Navigating the Adoption Journey with Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue

Welcoming a new pet into your home is a journey filled with excitement, anticipation, and love. At Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue, we're dedicated to making the adoption process as smooth and transparent as possible, ensuring a perfect match between our furry friends and their forever families. Here's what you need to know to embark on this rewarding adventure.

Step-by-Step Guide to Adoption

1. Register Online: Your first step is to register on our website. Upon registration, you'll receive a username and a password via email, enabling you to log in to our platform.

2. Complete the Adoption Application: Once logged in, you can fill out the Adoption Application for the animal you're interested in. Remember, animals listed for "Sponsorship" are not yet available for adoption. If you're drawn to one of these animals, please wait until their status changes to "Available" before applying. While sponsoring is encouraged, it does not guarantee adoption approval.

3. Application Review: An Adoption Counselor will be assigned to review your application. Response times may vary due to the volume of applications and the fact that our counselors are volunteers. We value your patience and commitment during this period.

4. Meet and Greet: If your application is approved, we'll schedule a meet and greet at the next available adoption event, where most adopters can finalize their adoption.

What’s Included with Your Adoption

Cats: All our cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated against FVRP and rabies, microchipped, fecal tested, and screened for leukemia and FIV. Adopters receive a wellness vet visit and a month of pet insurance. Adoption fees vary between $50-$150.

Dogs: All dogs come spayed/neutered, vaccinated against DA2PPV and rabies, microchipped, and heartworm tested. Like with cats, adopters enjoy a wellness vet visit and a month of pet insurance, with fees ranging from $150-$500.

All fees are donations to the rescue, helping to offset the costs of saving and caring for each pet, including those requiring life-saving treatments or surgeries.

Special Considerations

  • Adoption with an Option: Some adult pets may be eligible for trial adoptions.
  • Bull Breed Dogs: To ensure the best match, Bull Breed type dogs will only be placed with applicants who own their home.

Things to Discuss with Your Adoption Counselor

  • Lifestyle: Be open about your lifestyle to help the counselor find the best match for both you and the pet.
  • Your Schedule: Consider how much time you can dedicate to a new pet, especially if considering puppies or kittens.
  • Children in Your Household: Discuss the dynamic between potential pets and children to find a suitable match.
  • Other Household Pets: Compatibility with existing pets is crucial for a harmonious home.

Health Disclaimer
