Our Story: Honoring Justin Gregory Bartlett

Justin Gregory Bartlett’s life, spanning from December 8, 1984, to December 14, 2008, was a beacon of caring and sharing that continues to illuminate the path for our community and beyond. The essence of Justin’s spirit, characterized by boundless compassion and the innate desire to connect with every life he touched, lives on through the work of the Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue.

Known affectionately as ‘Shark’ for his love of fishing, Justin’s journey on earth may have been brief, yet his impact is timeless. His departure following a tragic accident left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Born in Miami and raised in Wellington, Florida, Justin was the cherished son of Rick and Karen Bartlett, a brother to Joshua, Jacob, and Richard, a beloved partner to Emily McMichael, and a dear friend to many, especially Todd Perez and Mike Gauer. Justin’s story is not just one of loss but of enduring love and unyielding dedication to making a difference.

As a passionate animal lover, his legacy is now enshrined in the mission of the Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue — a testament to his gentle nature and his caring soul that found joy in the well-being of animals.
